Our Sisters in Action
In the Beta Mu Chapter, our sisters are committed to advocating Women’s Wellness Initiative on and off-campus. Our sisters work with the local organization of Village of Hope in aiding women and children dealing with homelessness. Some of our sisters volunteer every week tutoring. Our chapter also works with One Love, facilitating workshops on campus to discuss the warning signs of an unhealthy and abusive relationship.
One love is an organization that educates young people about healthy and unhealthy relationships, empowering them to identify and avoid abuse and learn how to love better. Many of our sisters are certified One Love facilitators and our chapter as a whole puts on One Love Workshops every semester to educate students on campus about the warning signs of an unhealthy relationship.
Strongest on the Shore
Strongest on the Shore is one of our fall fundraising events where individuals (both men and women) compete for the title of 'Strongest on the Shore'. The competition is a series of challenges that are both physical and philanthropic. Our sisters have so much fun putting on this event! This past year we raised $1,610 for Village of Hope and donated 521 cans to the Halo Homeless Shelter!
Mock Rock is our biggest fundraising event of the year! It is a dance and fundraising competition that the majority or Greek and Non-Greek Clubs participate in every year. Last spring's Mock Rock Theme was March Mashup Madness and we raised $8,000+ for Village of Hope!
